The potential of microalgae as a raw material is so huge, that in order to fully embrace its capabilities, one would need to bring together all the specialized actors involved in the numerous strategic areas onto one communal scenario.
AlgaEnergy, convinced that such initiative was needed, has promoted the CENIT VIDA project (integral algae valorisation) which, led by its shareholder IBERDROLA¸ was approved by the Spanish Government at its 6th meeting. (September 2010). The program is set to run for 4 years and has been assigned a budget of 19 million Euros.
CENIT VIDA combines the effort of 14 outstanding multinationals and specialized companies, scientific authorities and up to 24 public Spanish research entities, which have joined forces and explore, as a multidiscipline group, the potential uses of microalgae in different sectors.
We invite you to learn more about this macro-program by visiting its website, by which Spain has made the most decisive European bid for the development of the microalgae potential, mainly, although not exclusively, in the nutritional, the agricultural, the environmental and the energetic sectors.
