CO2BIOCAP MOBILE LABORATORY

The installation of microalgae cultivation plants for the treatment and removal of industrially emitted combustion gases requires a high level of investment.  It is therefore advisable to first ascertain in advance whether combustion gases are compatible with the CO₂ biological fixation method in question and secondly we must determine the efficiency of such fixation.

As far as reducing carbon dioxide is concerned, ALGAENERGY has been able to solve this problem effectively, having developed, along with the University of Almeria and in cooperation with the Community of Madrid (CAM), the CO2BIOCAP project (CAPture and BIOlogical CO2 fixation) whose principal goal has been to create a mobile CO₂ capture system, using stationary emission sources for storage in activated carbon and subsequent biological fixation using microalgae culture. The entire operation and process is developed in the laboratory.

Using its own know-how, ALGAENERGY can provide CO₂ emitting businesses and industries with the use of the CO2BIOCAP mobile laboratory which allows a schedule of capture and biofixation of each noxious gas within the relevant microalgal strain.
